Green, White, Red (Mediterranean Blue) is an intermediate installation that combines the artist’s
research on abstraction with themes of nationalism and migration, particularly those related to the
Mediterranean borders. The artwork comprises three monochromatic paintings that replicate the
colors of the Italian flag. A looping video image of the Mediterranean Sea is projected onto the
central white painting. The artwork is completed by a neon sign bearing the words “Other Than
Self”. Through this piece, the artist contemplates the notion of otherness in contemporary society,
particularly in relation to migration phenomena and the formation of national identity.
