A comic drama inspired by the plot by Goldoni, Martinelli added "three impure acts" to the title of the drama to refer to the mix of historical periods. The formal value of the text derives from the coexistence of heterogeneous elements intertwined with each other: Italian culture with African culture, the eighteenth century with the twentieth century, multilingualism and the different musical registers now taken from Vivaldi now from jazz. The text inherits the relationship between the powerful and the subaltern of the Goldonian canvas but diffracts it in a kaleidoscope of more current and innovative domain axes, such as that between parent and child and between Italian and immigrant.
