In Tout-monde Glissant stages contemporary world’s creolization: the clash, the encounter, the hybridization between different languages and cultures. The stories of different characters (including the alter ego Mathieu Béluse and the same Glissant) characterized by wandering and migration, encounter themselves in spatial, stylistic and thematic common places. The déparleur (a new type of author which is modified, pluralized by the writing experience) intertwines these narrative lines and the plurivocity of languages and registers. The novel is followed by the essay Traité du tout-monde (1997).
