Vesna va veloce

Arrived in Trieste with a bus of compatriots (from a rural area of ​​Czechoslovakia), the young Vesna deliberately remains in Italy depriving herself of the presence of her fellow villager Marina who is about to leave again with the group from her country. Without money, she accepts the hospitality of an insurer who gives up possessing her. Then he eats in a restaurant without paying and, given the prices in vogue in Italy, he thinks of prostituting himself. Determined to reach Rimini, Vesna accepts a lift by truck, impassively witnessing the death of a drunken Slav on the highway. Lodging in a residence, he enters the circle of prostitutes in the East. Soon, overcoming his disgust for certain encounters, he scrapes together some money that he hides behind the bidet. One evening Antonio, a bricklayer interested in her, approaches her, who takes her to dinner in a left-wing place where Vesna eats and dances, and then disappears. But the racketeer has noticed her and a pimp from the East steals her passport and stabs her. Antonio helps her, has her treated clandestinely to avoid mandatory repatriation and has her restored. Grateful for the help received, Vesna seems conquered by the simple man's affection, but when he thinks, seeing her talking to a prostitute, that she will still go back to her previous job, that in his heart he can't forgive her, he begins to treat her badly. She tries to win his trust and accompanies her on an inspection of a dam in the mountains. Here the two are invited to a party by the entrepreneur: Antonio drinks and is more and more abrupt. Vesna then decides to go to Milan and sets off on foot but Antonio follows her in the car and forces her to get in, which runs over a cow due to excess speed. The carabinieri intervene and are forced to take the young woman to Florence to have her repatriated. Vesna, taking advantage of the car parked at a service station, tries to escape by recklessly crossing the highway.
