Francesca Medaglia is currently Assistant Professor (RTDA) in Comparative Literature at Sapienza - University of Rome. In 2015/6 she was at University College London as a 6-month Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei postdoctoral scholarship holder, in order to carry out research at CenTraS and SELCS as Affiliate Academic. In 2016 she was at Fondazione Giorgio Cini – Centro Branca (Venice) as a 1-month Postdoctoral scholarship holder. She has published four books: La scrittura a quattro mani (PensaMultimedia, 2014), Asimmetrie ibride nella critica di Antonino Contiliano (CFR, 2014), Il ritmo dei tempi in Antonino Contiliano (Empirìa, 2014) and Autore/personaggio: interferenze, complicazioni e scambi di ruolo. Autori e personaggi complessi nella contemporaneità letteraria e transmediale (Lithos, 2020). She has lectured at national and international conferences.
As part of the EuLiterArt project, Francesca Medaglia will take into account the transmedial dimension of European representation thought the analysis of tv series and their paratexts: in particular, she will focus both on the representation of Europeans and on the perception of cultural intercomprension and transcultural communication in contemporary tv series, i.e. La casa de Papel and Montalbano. She will analyse how the storytelling is modified in order to represent the new European dimension.
